LIFE GROUP LEAD
DEF. ~ Someone who creates space for connection, conversation, and spiritual growth.
Our goal is to help every person grow in a deeper walk with God by intentionally creating spaces where we can share life together. Life Groups are different environments, all designed to work toward one unified goal: making disciples.
EXPECTATIONS
Pursue a Christlike lifestyle. Seek to grow in my relationship with Christ and live in a way that reflects Him to those I lead.
Believe and support Journey Church’s values and beliefs. Journey Church — What We Believe
Attend Journey Church faithfully. Make regular participation in our church community a priority.
Guide, don’t teach. Life Group is not a class. Your role is to facilitate discussion, encourage participation, and help people connect with God and one another.
Be prepared. Come ready to guide the conversation and help create an environment where people can participate and grow.
Handle conflict constructively. Address difficult situations with grace, honesty, and a desire for restoration rather than allowing conflict to become destructive.
Be a stepping stone, not a stumbling block. As a Life Group Host, I recognize that alcohol should not be part of my Life Group or promoted on my social media while serving in this role.
Encourage and build up others. Choose encouragement over criticism and unity over gossip.
Ask for help when needed. You don’t have to navigate difficult situations alone. Reach out to another leader or church staff when you need support.
